FINDING BALANCE

Hello Zakia and Hans;

I had the privilege of visiting your gallery last Saturday afternoon. and meeting you both.  I was with two women friends and we all enjoyed your work.

Hans, you were kind enough to take time to chat while I stood wide-eyed by all the stunning and gentle photographs on exhibit.

I was particularly struck by several photographs however time that late in the afternoon did not allow me to dash off for funds to purchase and actually find my way back to Hurumzi before gallery closure.  We departed Zanzibar at noon Sunday.

You mentioned that DHL is very costly and sending simply by regular post a risk should the package be opened and prints possibly damaged.  Most unfortunate.

Therefore, I am writing to express thanks again and that my brief and wondrous visit to Stone town was greatly enhanced by the visit to The Beautiful Eyes.  Your photographs  continue to resonate.

I would be pleased to receive your newsletter.

Jill.

I found this mail in my box this morning and its always make me think about all the contacts sometime brief or even some hours. Talks we have as the one with Jill above, about our work but also what photography brings up emotions recognitions or talk about gear. It’s a gratified benefit to have this gallery and make the work you feel you must, for that reason you feel you must and some of the visitors well almost all are so with positive energy about it. It’s develop confidence, refine my intentions, and make progress by being prepared to put my desires, beliefs, ideas, or skills to the test. It charge the emotional batteries who I most say become very dry by the normal stone town life. The life we live is to make steps, steps ahead so also we want to make steps ahead.  We spent a month to create a plan as some of you who we spoke to on our walks know about.  The plan consists in to find and rent a much bigger space for gallery schooling and other activities I can’t talk about now.  In one of our walks I did see a nice building in the centre of town we start to talk with open view, finding solutions and than the African way of doing business starts and all tricks come on the table. Fortunately we make our home work and have a good lawyer, so we are not hurt yet. But it took one whole year before all tricks where played out, at they end no renting contract. We shake our heads make a longer meditation drink good cappuccinos tell each other we go away soon here. And what happens we start again I think because contacts like the one with Jill. We start now talking with many people even ministers and I can tell you they have the right interest and give us positive support. Let me tell you, there is not a contract yet but I think we are almost there a nice spot with opportunities for many new ideas we will be exiting to employ staff. In the years we work together zakia and me, we met several fantastic people who already have a nice career but they want to become a photographer.  Bring all the energy and live experience to our company for sure they will have nice projects of there own within the philosophy of the beautiful eyes. We keep you informed.
