DISASTER

Sunday morning now 24 hour ago zakia got a phone call from her mother the ferry to Pemba was collapsed a family member was on it nobody knew something all drowned. Zakia became shocked her son was traveling to Pemba a few days ago only by a modern catamaran ferry I want to go first class dad he told me well for a difference of 3pesa that was no problem. We put him on the ferry that early morning , one month ago we traveled ourself with the same catamaran to pemba, we experienced the very raw sea ourself zakia filled her bag with closed eyes I had taken even two tablets and was well. So we where there on the early saturday morning there in our mind we saw the wild sea with surviving or dad fellow citizens. We saw and know the overfull loaded ship like all most everybody in stonetown we sent our children last year for holiday to relatives in Pemba, it went well that time. Now on sunday morning our sad expectation become true reuters show a video of dead body’s nurses show there faces to inform relatives the video created by the government and on air by national television. Zakia’s relative had make contact with his family on saturday afternoon with a borrowed phone he was ok, but others we know spent the night outside and still waiting near the main hospital to see the dead body’s still coming in. The devastating energy of shock and sadness I felt even in the empty streets of stone town walking home last night. We did not open the gallery, we open Wednesday after the official national mourning is finished. The emotional mourning will take much longer. I try to end this a positive I can be, in the walk trough town yesterday zakia spoke to a police official a  rescue boat found a baby of four months floated on the water still beading. And with the picture zakia took of two boys in there saving blanket who survived the disaster in front of the hospital telling there friends there ordeal. There will be a bank account to donate we will upload as we know.
